Must-Have Baby Gear for Cold Weather

Must-Have Baby Gear for Cold Weather

This season is shaping up to be quite different from years past. And for parents working from home, schooling from home, or just plain home with little ones more, getting outside is a must, no matter what the thermometer outside reads. Here are several must-have accessories for parents of little ones braving the remaining colder months.

7 AM Enfant Warmmuffs ($40), cozy and durable stroller mitts that attach right to the stroller handle and stay there, are a must. A water repellent outer shell, poly insulation, and a super soft micro-fleece lined interior will keep your hands warmer than regular gloves or mittens. (Pictured above.)

Keep little toes warm with Zutano’s Cozie Fleece Baby Booties ($21). They’re warm, easy to get on and off with a simple snap, and they actually stay on your baby’s foot, which is a huge bonus.

The 7 AM Enfant 212 Evolution Blanket ($189.99) footmuff is as warm as it gets. It’s like a toasty sleeping bag with micro-fleece lining that easily attaches to any stroller with simple hook and loop attachments. It can also fit onto a car seat or be used in a bassinet. Thanks to removable extensions, one blanket will accommodate children ages 0 to 4. For further clarification on all of 7 AM's blankets and bundlers, check out our recent blog, The Not-So-Subtle Differences Between 7AM's Winter Accessories

Hatley’s Fuzzy Fleece Baby Bundlers ($40, below) will cover your little one in the softest fleece around. Features like its full-length zipper, foldover hands and feet, hood with elastic opening, and adorable prints make this bundler a favorite.

Your baby will always stay warm in this one-piece Infant Hi-Loft Down Sweater Bunting by Patagonia ($149), which is insulated with 700-fill-power 100% recycled down (duck and goose down reclaimed from down products) and lined with soft polyester fabric. This bunting has spandex binding at the hood, sleeve and foot openings for a secure fit, and fold-over mitt and foot covers will keep your baby covered whether they’re walking or crawling.

CaliKids Baby Mitts ($17.99) and Mittens with Clips ($21.99) are warm, fleece-lined mittens with a nylon waterproof exterior. Not only are these mittens warm, but the string, which feeds through the arms of a coat, and the Locking Gator Clip ensure that one will never go missing. (Well, maybe never.)

When looking for warm baby blankets to use in the stroller, Woolino’s Baby Blanket ($79.99) topped our list because it’s not only super soft, but it’s made from 100% pure Australian merino wool & 100% organic cotton outer, making it extra warm. Merino wool wicks away moisture and regulates body temperature, keeping your baby warm when it's cold and cool when it's warm.

If merino wool is what you’re looking for, then Nui Organics’ Merino Wool Zip Bodysock ($74) is for you. This thermal zipper footie is super stretchy with room to grow and will keep your baby warm all winter long.

Stay warm!
